Packers taking it day by day with Aaron Rodgers

Knowing coach Mike Zimmer, I'd expect plenty of pressure on Rodgers.

The two-time MVP told ESPN's Rob Demovksy that he avoided taking pain medication Sunday.

On Wednesday, Rodgers did not practice.

There hasn't been any evident discussion on Rodgers wearing a brace, but he said that there are certainly options available and that they'll make a decision on that later in the week. The Packers quarterback gave a blunt one-word answer when he was asked if he needed to practice this week in order to play.

There's reason for optimism for Rodgers' status entering week two, and even more so considering he has yet to offer up any advice for his backup, DeShone Kizer. He said it would be accurate to describe his injury as a sprained left knee.

Rodgers left the game during the first half, but came back for the third quarter, leading the Packers from a 20-point deficit to emerge with a 24-23 victory. He said after the game that while he had to undergo more tests, he planned on playing against Minnesota. "We'll see what tomorrow brings", McCarthy said during his Wednesday news conference.

"Obviously there's the hope of playing", McCarthy said, via the team's website. "We'll give him the whole week to get ready. We'll take it day by day and learn as we go".

Every year, there are players who take monumental steps forward and backward. Instead he worked with players rehabbing, which also included receiver Davante Adams. Just because Rodgers is in the rehab group that doesn't mean it's a setback.
