Apple event expected to reveal 3 new iPhones, changes to Apple Watch

We have seen multiple reports of how Apple Watch has alerted users of elevated heart in the past and with new models, Apple is making it even better.

In terms of build, the rear is now ceramic as standard.

Apple Chief Operating Officer Jeff Williams called Apple Watch "the intelligent guardian for your health". The company is focusing on connectivity, fitness, and health as the three core elements of its smartwatch strategy. "Everything has been redesigned and reengineered".

Premium options of the Apple Watch Series 4 include Hermes editions with super-fancy leather straps and sophisticated clasps, but you won't find any gold-plated Series 4 models on Apple's web site.

Water-resistance and built-in Global Positioning System, like the Apple Watch Series 3. Prices start at $399 for the non-cellular aluminum models in space gray, silver and gold, and $499 for the non-cellular stainless steel models in silver, "polished graphite" and gold. Backward compatible is available on the part of wristbands.

The Apple Watch Series 2 is no longer available on Apple's web store, but you can still find the Series 3 there at a bargain price.

As far as India is concerned, pricing and availability details haven't yet been revealed but an announcement is expected soon.

Apple Watch Series 4 comes with a new feature to read your heart's electrical signals, allowing the device's Digital Crown electrode and back crystal electrode to generate "an ECG similar to a single-lead electrocardiogram". However, it is worth noting that Apple has made the move to more energy-efficient, LTPO OLED screens for the Series 4.

Apple introduced solid-state buttons to the Apple Watch platform, which were applied to the Digital Crown and the Side button. Apple is promising an all-day battery life on the Watch Series 4. And if you compare the new 44mm model, it's 32 percent larger than the 42mm Apple Watch Series 3.

The new series will be able to detect an irregular heartbeat and start an emergency call automatically if it detects a user falling down, potentially appealing to older customers.

Apple now claims that its Watch 4 battery life is staying strong at 18 hours for "all-day", which is a bit of a disappointment and keeps it behind the same levels claimed by others like Samsung or more dedicated running devices.

The data will then be fed back into the Health app on a linked iPhone and used to create a PDF based on the EKG reading that can be sent on to a doctor.

An app unlocking the wrist-based ECG functionality will be available to USA consumers later this year.

Three new heart features were also announced.

The most enticing feature of the new Apple Watch is that OLED display which is now over 30 per cent larger to reduce the bezels and max out the wearable's slightly larger (but also thinner) case size.
