Wild brawl at nail salon

Footage captures the workers as they crowd around a customer and smack her with a broom handle at New Red Apple Nails on Norstrand Avenue in East Flatbush, Brooklyn.

The video was filmed and uploaded to Facebook by one of the customers who was in the salon during the incident.

A nail salon erupted in violence on Friday, with a grandmother and two other customers attacked with a broomstick, believed to be over an eyebrow wax gone wrong.

The video shows salon employees striking one woman with a broomstick until she's able to flee out the front door.

Several broomsticks were left propped against the roll-down gate covering the 888 Happy Red Apple Nails storefront in East Flatbush, and signs taped to it said "Black Dollars Matters!" and "They wicked!"

"So I'm at the nail salon and they.[expletive]. up a lady eyebrow and she refused to pay then a fight broke outttt", she wrote, including the salon's address. According to the New York Post, Huiyue Zheng was charged with assault and weapon possession.

The person also notes that the fight stemmed from Thomas refusing to pay the salon because she felt the employee did not do a good job. Zheng was released from jail on her own recognizance after a hearing in Brooklyn Criminal Court, cops said. Video of the attack was posted to social media and prompted protests outside the salon on Monday. Some protesters urged black residents in the neighborhood not spent their money at the salon. Customer Christina Thomas was charged with misdemeanor assault and also released on her own recognizance. The women were dissatisfied with the service from the salon and ultimately, refused to pay $5 for a "f**ked up" eyebrow job. Police escorted workers out of the establishment for their safety, the Post reports. But police were ready for protesters and were inside the business when they arrived at about 6:30 p.m.

"Until they open a soul food restaurant in Chinatown, we ain't eating over there", one woman tells the crowd. Police officers guide him back inside.

Demonstrators angrily chanted, "shut them down", "f-k the police" and "no nails, no toes, these racist shops have got to go". The salon closed for the remainder of the day.
