Man Utd transfer rumours: Paul Pogba dominates newspapers

Things have not come easy for Paul Pogba at Manchester United, and it appears to be taking its toll.

Sky in Italy say United have rejected an offer for Pogba from Barcelona of £45m plus Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes.

Man United's club-record signing was reportedly upset with Jose Mourinho's comments about him after France won the World Cup.

Speaking on the Transfer Window podcast he said: "He (Mourinho) needs to pull Paul Pogba into his office ahead of this weekend's fixtures and say "forget everything".

The former Juventus star had several bust-ups with United manager Jose Mourinho last season and is believed to be questioning his future at Old Trafford.

Pogba's agent, Mino Raiola, is now in Manchester in a bid to push the complicated operation forward. "During a season, you can have a big match then a smaller match, then one even smaller, then you can lose your focus, you can lose your concentration, then comes a big match again".

Fair play to Mourinho though, Pogba did have a string of bad games for which he was heavily criticized for.

Pogba wants a £200,000-a-week pay rise to stay at Manchester United, according to The Sun. I think maybe another signing or two.

Last season's Premier League runners-up have stuttered in the market this summer, having so far only signed Brazil midfielder Fred, promising full-back Diogo Dalot and third-choice goalkeeper Lee Grant. True, he had a great World Cup but that's a string of 6 or 7 games.

The Old Trafford side have been in a long, hard pursuit of Tottenham centre-back Toby Alderweireld and look set to finalise the signing ahead of Thursday's transfer deadline.
