Margot Robbie Instagrams First Look At Her As Sharon Tate

Opening on the 50th anniversary of the day that the Manson family committed the LaBianca murders and the day after Tate was killed.

Standing against a yellow backdrop and sporting Tate's signature hairstyle, a black turtleneck and matching skirt and go-go boots, Robbie closely resembles the brutally murdered star.

Sharon Tate was almost nine months pregnant with her husband Roman Polanski's child when she was brutally killed by the Manson family.

Rooted in Los Angeles during the summer of 1969, we know the infamous Charles Manson will only feature briefly - think of Adolf Hitler's limited screentime during Inglorious Basterds - as Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is seemingly more concerned with the drama between Rick Dalton and his struggling stunt double.

While the late actress' family members weren't always keen on the film, given the tragic circumstances, her sister Debra Tate recently gave Tarantino their blessing after the director approached her about the project.

Quentin Tarantino has assembled a stellar cast for his next film Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, bringing together the likes of Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, Al Pacino and Burt Reynolds.

Early plot details for the upcoming movie were revealed last November with a release date of August 9, 2019, the fiftieth anniversary of actress Sharon Tate's murder. However, Sharon Tate was famously one of the victims of the murders.

Set in the height of hippie culture in 1969 Los Angeles, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood follows DiCaprio's Rick Dalton, an out-of-work actor, and Pitt's Cliff Booth, Rick's stunt double. I'm very excited to tell this story of an LA, and a Hollywood that doesn't exist anymore.

Production for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is now underway in Los Angeles for Sony Pictures and the film is slated for release on August 9, 2019.
