Arsenal midfielder Alex Iwobi signs new long term contract

Arsenal midfielder Alex Iwobi has signed a new "long-term" deal with the club, reportedly until 2023.

That would not make N'Zonzi one of the wealthiest players in English football but would likely represent a hefty increase on the paypacket he now receives at Sevilla.

Arsenal will have the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Mesut Ozil, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Aaron Ramsey starting tonight, while Peter Cech captains the side. Two of those, Everton and Arsenal, have been linked for a number of months now.

"We are getting used to it, we are working really hard to understand the way they want to train and the way they want is to play".

Liverpool have been on a sensational strengthening mission this summer transfer window and have already made 4 quality signings in Alisson, Naby Keita, Fabinho and Xherdan Shaqiri. "We started very good", said the German worldwide.

"I think there's no vacancy at Liverpool right now following the arrival of Fabinho and Naby Keita but Ramsey would certainly be a very good addition to Jurgen Klopp's squad as a creative box-to-box midfielder".

Ramsey has also been linked with several European clubs and McGarry believes the midfielder would be open to the idea of playing overseas so Liverpool would face stiff competition for his signature.

Emery confirmed that Torreira is in line to make his first appearance for the north London side in their pre-season friendly against Italian giants Lazio in Sweden this weekend.

"So, Ramsey is taking time and quite rightly to weigh up his options".

Arsenal are heading into a season without Arsene Wenger in charge for the first time since 1996, while new boss Unai Emery has been handed five new players - Stephan Lichtsteiner, Bernd Leno, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Lucas Torreira, Matteo Guendouzi - to bed in. Post the match, plenty of the Arsenal faithful were crying out for a wide player who could offer some width to Emery's style of play and their prayers may just be answered in the next few weeks.
