Is collusion a crime?

"Is Robert Mueller ever going to release his conflicts of interest with respect to President Trump, including the fact that we had a very nasty & contentious business relationship, I turned him down to head the Federal Bureau of Investigation (one day before appointment as S.C.) & Comey is his close friend".

The former Mayor of NY and US President Donald Trump's lawyer threatened to leave the CNN interview after he claimed he was "useless, petty and silly". My favorite is when he was comparing the Cohen and Mueller beef with President Trump to the Kennedy assassination and when Julius Caesar was killed - no hyperbole at all.

He said the president doesn't have plans to fire Mueller but believes it "should get this over now".

Mueller might decide, for example, that a crime was committed if he finds evidence that an American was involved in the hack of Democrats, either by soliciting it or paying someone to do it. (While we're at it, election "meddling" isn't either.) The U.S. code mostly uses the term "collusion" in antitrust laws to address crimes like price fixing. "Hacking is the crime".

Giuliani also vaguely questioned Mueller's fitness to lead the investigation, which he took over after Trump fired former FBI Director James Comey previous year.

In a tweet, Trump earlier referred to a "very nasty & contentious business relationship" he once had with Mueller, and although Giuliani didn't elaborate, he said Mueller needs to "stand up and be a man".

In an interview on CNN, the former New York City mayor suggested that Trump would have had to pay Russian operatives to collude.

Giuliani's own team worked on its "counter-report", which he said would be released after his team reviewed whatever Mueller filed with the Justice Department.

Giuliani said there are about a dozen recordings "of substance" made by Cohen. A spokesman for Mueller told The Washington Post that there was no dispute when Mueller left the club.

Manafort's trial, in which he faces charges on 18 counts of violating tax and banking laws, is a high-profile test of the Mueller team's investigation into Russian election interference in 2016.

Giuliani would also appear on "Fox & Friends" on Monday to offer a similar claim. Nevertheless, Trump's legal team is preparing to counter the results of the investigation. He said Trump has done nothing to impede the investigation.
