Apple teases new emoji, including new bald, red, curly and white hair

Instead of unicorns or robots, Apple's new Memoji are meant to look like you.

To celebrate World Emoji Day (which is today if you didn't know), Apple has announced its next round of brand new emoji.

It's a great day to be bald, ginger, grey, or curly-haired - or, indeed, a lobster.

There will be a cold face, a party face, a pleading face and a face with hearts.

This was revealed by Google on World Emoji Day on Tuesday (July 17), in a ranking of the top 10 most frequently used emojis in Gboard - the company's virtual keyboard for iPhones and Android phones. Parrots, kangaroos, and peacocks are also being added, along with new food options.

Apple (AAPL) previewed some of its 70 new emojis on Monday.

World Emoji Day is the global celebration of emojis and this day is celebrated with different emoji events and product releases.

Twitter said in a statement, "Keeping in mind the popularity of emojis, Twitter has been actively introducing a variety of culture, entertainment, sports and news related emojis that range from iconic symbols to historic signs and motifs of festivals". "Honestly, there's nothing better than when someone who might have seemed a bit aloof via email sends an emoji and you can breathe out, knowing we're all just humans after all". Popular emojis include faces representing various emotions, animals and love hearts.
