Crumbs. Apple has tweaked the MacBook Pro keyboard

Unfortunately, with the launch of the 2018 Macbook pro model, you can no longer purchase a brand new 2015 15-inch Retina Macbook Pro from Apple.

The updated MacBook Pros come ahead of a significant product blitz for Apple.

For those who want to go all out, they can choose to maximize the specifications of the Core i7 variant for the 13-inch MacBook Pro with 16GB RAM and 2TB solid state drive for RM 15,264.

Apple has refreshed the MacBook Pro line with six-core, eight generation Intel Core processors for more power and higher performance.

They're not cheap though - the 13-inch version starts at $US1,799, and the 15-inch model will cost $US2,399.

"The latest generation MacBook Pro is the fastest and most powerful notebook we've ever made", said Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. You'll have to pay $699 on top of whatever you end up forking over to Apple for that brand new MacBook Pro.

The 13-inch MacBook Pro now tops out at 2 TB of SSD storage, a 2.7 GHz (4.8 GHz with Turbo Boost) i7 quad-core processor, and 16 GB of RAM.

UPDATE: July 12, 2018, 2:56 p.m. EDT: Apple appears to have moved the 2015 Macbook Pro to the Apple store clearance page. Customers running DaVinci Resolve 15 can expect increased performance for editing with more real time effects, color corrections with more nodes and spectacular ResolveFX such as film grain, light rays, blurs and more.

The entry-level 13-inch MacBook Pro without Touch Bar didn't get an update, nor did the thin and light MacBook or the more affordable MacBook Air. Additional features include Radeon Pro graphics, a large Force Touch trackpad, innovative Touch Bar and Touch ID, dynamic stereo speakers, Thunderbolt 3 for data transfer, and charging and connecting up to two 5K displays or four external GPUs. The T2 chip also enables users to interact with Apple's virtual assistant using the wakeword "Hey Siri", similar to iPhones.

The eGPU is a freestanding extruded aluminum enclosure for an included Radeon Pro 580 GPU - the same GPU included in Apple's high-end 27-inch iMac past year - with Thunderbolt 3, HDMI 2.0 and USB 3.1 connectivity.
