President Trump's astonishing words about the people of North Korea

North Korean state media heralded the summit between Kim Jong Un and President Trump as "the meeting of the century" and emphasized Trump's announcement to end the "war games" with South Korea, according to reports.

"Just landed - a long trip, but everybody can now feel much safer than the day I took office", Trump tweeted as he arrived back in Washington.

Trump was also optimistic about the progress they achieved, stating, "We are going to take care of a very big and very risky problem for the world". So, we want the president to be successful in gaining a way in which the Korean Peninsula will be nuclear-free. The president made refueling stops in Guam and Hawaii on his return to Washington.

Pompeo noted that the agreement's specifics needed to be reached, but that the goal of the agreement was in print and signed by Trump and Kim.

A television screen at the Baro bar broadcasts the Singapore summit meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, as customers sit at the bar in the Korea Town section of Manhattan, New York, U.S., June 11, 2018. Meeting with Kim Jong Un was an interesting and very positive experience. Mr. Trump also claimed Kim told him North Korea has destroyed a "major" missile testing site, although he didn't expand on that. After all, if there is no threat, why would the North Koreans need to give up their arsenal?

Thirty-nine percent believe the summit has lowered the threat of nuclear war between the United States and nuclear-armed North Korea, slightly more than the 37 percent who said they did not believe it changed anything.

Trump's rush to claim credit for the supposed disappearance of the North Korean nuclear threat may also give nations like China and Russian Federation an incentive to ease stringent implementation of the "maximum pressure" sanctions that helped bring Pyongyang to the table.

Beijing immediately hinted that the United Nations could consider lifting the punishing sanctions on North Korea that Trump credits with bringing Kim to the table. But Trump's triumphalism is not based on concrete commitments by Kim that were established by his own administration's expectations setting before the talks.
