Next-generation Xbox console to reportedly launch by 2020

Is your Xbox One starting to feel a little dusty and old?

Xbox will be on the show floor at E3 alongside numerous other biggest names in the industry when the doors of the convention open on Tuesday. Anyway, we won't have any confirm soon, as Microsoft doesn't provide Xbox One sales data anymore and won't change this approach in the future. Instead, it refers to "a family of devices", which might mean that Microsoft will release several pieces of hardware related to the Xbox video game system that year.

"As of March 31, its Xbox One had a global install base of 39.1M units; Sony's PlayStation 4 had 76.6M, according to IHS".

It was also said that streaming will be heavily integrated into the console. But Microsoft's strength in cloud computing should put it in a good position. The confirmation came when Xbox chief Phil Spencer said in a statement that Microsoft is indeed "deep into architecting the next Xbox consoles" The reports also highlight that the next-generation Xbox console is set to launch in 2020.

Microsoft also announced plans to launch a game streaming service on Sunday.

But if the video game world shifts to Microsoft's strengths, its new competition in play could become cloud and AI titans such as Amazon, Google, Tencent, and Alibaba, according to Harding-Rolls.

The ESA trade group organizes E3, with 60,000 industry insiders and gamers from some 100 countries expected to attend the three-day gathering.

Console makers have been taking lessons from mobile games, building online communities of players who provide feedback; stream play; subscribe to services, and spend money on digital content such as dance moves or funky clothing for characters. That being said, specific details about these products are not yet available.

Making the announcements ahead of the opening of gaming trade show E3 next week, the company previewed a range of exclusive titles and new instalments in popular series Halo Infinite and Gears 5.
