Special Elections Being Held in Northeast Wisconsin on Tuesday

Both are seeking re-election after having won in 2012 by just one percentage point. Democrats need to defend these seats and gain a few others in order to regain control of the Senate, where Republicans now hold a slim 51-49 majority. There was also heightened interest in the Turner-area House District 75 seat formerly held by Republican Rep. Jeff Timberlake, who is term-limited out of his seat and is running for the Senate. Arrington has sought to use Sanford's frequent criticism of Trump as a wedge with GOP primary voters.
