Rose McGowan Speaks Out on Anthony Bourdain, Asia Argento's Romance

Gladys said that funeral arrangements are the decision of Bourdain's ex-wife Ottavia Busia Bourdain, the mother of his 11-year-old daughter.

'Our little girl had her concert today.

Her letter concludes, "To the media and to the random commenter, Anthony would never have wanted Asia to be hurt, I'd like to think he would want us to have the collective conversation that needs to be had about depression".

In an open letter published by The Hollywood Reporter, McGowan writes, "Sitting across from me is the remarkable human and courageous survivor, Asia Argento, who has been through more than most could stand, and yet stand she does". She wore the boots you bought her.

"I write these truths because I have been asked to".

Authorities said the cook, writer and host of the CNN series "Parts Unknown" killed himself Friday in a luxury hotel in France's eastern Alsace region. "I have changed. My husband half-jokes that he married Sophia Loren but ended up with Jean-Claude Van Damme", the 49-year-old wrote in the article. In accepting the award, Mr. Bourdain said that while he appreciated the honor, "there was very little courage and, one would hope, an ordinary amount of conscience at work in producing our Israel-Palestine episode of Parts Unknown".

This is the first time his ex, whom he divorced in 2016, has spoken out.

Argento shared a statement about Bourdain on Friday, hours after his death became public. Julien Schroeder, the owner and chef of La Petite Venise, said Friday that he served the typical regional meal to Bourdain and Eric Ripert, co-owner of New York's famed Le Bernardin, while cameras rolled. Gladys learned of Anthony's passing from her younger son, Christopher.

"Although they're separated, she'll be in charge of whatever happens", Gladys told the newspaper. "His love of great adventure, new friends, fine food and drink and the remarkable stories of the world made him a unique storyteller". McGowan says Argento "did the work to get help, so she could stay alive" for her kids, but "Anthony's depression didn't let him, he put down his armor, and that was very much his choice". "Our thoughts and prayers are with his daughter and family at this incredibly hard time", CNN said in a statement. "He was my love, my rock, my protector".

No one was more shocked about Anthony Bourdain's suicide than his own mother. My thoughts are with his family.
