'Wedding Crashers' star Vince Vaughn busted at sobriety checkpoint

He was arrested and charged with DWI and resisting, while the passenger he was with was charged with public intoxication. According to reports, Vince Vaughn and a passenger were stopped at a California checkpoint near Hermosa Beach at approximately 12:30 am, Sunday morning, June 10, 2018. "By publicizing these educational and enforcement efforts, the Manhattan Beach Police Department believes that drinking and driving and driving while unlicensed will be reduced".

Vaughn, 48, was initially held on $5,000 bail in Manhattan Beach, located roughly 20 miles southwest of Los Angeles, police records show.

Vaughn's mugshot was later released by the MBPD, with the True Detective actor sporting a nervous smile. He was released from custody later in the morning, police employee Nisha Bhagat said.

The arrest occurred at 1am on Sunday local time and is Vaughn's first DUI arrest.

If convicted, Vince Vaughn will have to attend alcohol education classes and pay court fines and fees as well as legal fees.

He was in a bar brawl alongside actor Steve Buscemi and screenwriter Scott Rosenberg in Wilmington, North Carolina, where they were filming the John Travolta-starrer "Domestic Disturbance".

Zins said he couldn't comment more on the arrest until prosecutors review the case and decide whether to file charges.

Vaughn is known for his roles in such films as "Swingers", "Wedding Crashers" and "Hacksaw Ridge".
