Pixel 3 may have wireless charging and Active Edge may return

A post on the XDA Developer's Forums may have revealed the Google Pixel 3 XL. The fingerprint sensor is in about the same place as the Pixel 2's, and even the Google logo (which appears to have been spoofed the hide the identity of this test device) is in the same place. Here's what to expect, whether anything revolutionary is coming down the pipe, and if Google fans will be satisfied with the upcoming offering. While the Pixel and Pixel 2 generations don't have the hardware for wireless charging, there's certainly room for the Pixel 3 to have it at this early stage.

There have been some reportedly leaked images and rumors of Google's upcoming phone, the Pixel 3 XL, but now it seems we have an actual prototype to look at and critique. Dual rear cameras have become the bread and butter of the industry and, while most implementations are mostly useless, one would expect Pixel 3 to sport one such setup.

As for the rear, it's nearly exactly identical to the Pixel 2 XL, except there's a new sensor in between the camera and the phone's flash.

Notch notwithstanding, I have to say I do like the overall look of this, but I'll reserve judgement until I see something a little more production-ready.

Now, for those of you who are screaming "of course it'll come back", keep in mind that Google has some history of removing existing features in later smartphones.

A recent report had suggested that the Pixel 3 XL might feature two front facing cameras and we can see two cameras inside the notch. At the same time, a phone with a glass back doesn't mean it'll come with wireless charging. By packing in even more technology, the Pixel 3 is bound to remain locked at a high price point. It looks like the notch has a smaller width than the iPhone X, but it does look to be much deeper.

Right now the Pixel 3 looks it could basically just be a Pixel 2S, and there's nothing wrong with that.

What do you think, is this a real prototype of the Pixel 3 XL? Google is also said to be working on a third mid-segment Pixel smartphone, which is codenamed "Bonito".
