NBA Finals wrap: Warriors win title

LeBron James said on Thursday that he wishes Wade was still on the team. Rebounding and drawing fouls kept the Cavaliers in the game in the first half, but those advantages evaporated after halftime.

James, 33, is the oldest finals leader in points and minutes, having struck for 51 points in the opener, the fifth-best game total in finals history. Golden State led by 11 in the first quarter, fell behind midway through the second, and went into the locker room with momentum after Stephen Curry made a 3-pointer in the closing seconds of the period. With Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green leading the Warriors, LeBron and his cast of average teammates are overmatched in almost every category. "Does it?" Durant said. "We love to come together and figure stuff out on the basketball court".

LeBron James says Kevin Durant is one of the best players he's ever faced, and the Trail Blazers really whiffed when they didn't draft him.

Last year, though, Cleveland had Kyrie Irving at its disposal.

After Game 4, James said the injury was "self-inflicted" and occurred because he was emotional after the Cavs lost the close game.

History was made on June 8, as for the second time since he joined the NBA, LeBron James was swept in the NBA Finals. James is now 3-6 all time in the Finals.

It was Durant's 28th consecutive playoff game with 20 or more points.

James, who can become a free agent at the end of the postseason, could be playing his last game in Cleveland.

Rodney Hood added 10 points.

Arguably, James is deserving of the regular season MVP and Finals MVP awards but given previous years this looks unlikely. They were traded February 8. "LeBron certainly thinks so, since he said "everybody knew" Durant was destined for greatness "... except Portland".

"You guys like this brace, huh?" They had that experience. But if LeBron and his team can win a game and gain some momentum, they could make this series interesting for a return to Oakland this weekend.

Klay Thompson scored 10 points for the Warriors and Draymond Green contributed nine points and nine assists.

It's certainly odd that the Warriors have won three titles and Curry still doesn't have a Finals MVP trophy, but right now it probably doesn't matter to him in the slightest.

The Warriors led by as many as 11 in the first quarter and were ahead 34-25 after 12 minutes.
