Dutch Queen Maxima's younger sister dead in Argentina

The lifeless body of Ines Zorreguieta, 33, was found at around 0300 GMT on Thursday at her apartment in the western Almagro district of the Argentinian capital, the Spanish-speaking daily Clarin reported. Also shown in this family picture taken on the baptism of Princess Ariane in 2007 are (front row) Queen Maxima with Princess Ariane on her lap, King Willem-Alexander (centre right), and their daughters Princess of Orange Catharina-Amalia (left) and Princess Alexia (right). Her father Jorge Zorreguieta, Argentina's former agriculture minister, died past year.

He had served as agriculture minister during Argentina's brutal military dictatorship - a link that caused some controversy in the Netherlands, and led to a debate in the Dutch parliament, before his daughter married the crown prince.

Reports say that Zorreguieta suffered from depression and mental health issues.

Aside from her royal sister, Zorreguieta has two brothers, Martin and Juan, and three half-siblings. A Dutch official told NOS TV it appeared that Zorreguieta killed herself.

The queen has cancelled her state visit to the Baltic countries next week and her agenda has been dropped for the next couple of days, said the statement received by Euronews. She was 33 years old.
