Stephan Lichtsteiner: Arsenal to sign defender from Juventus

On his part, the new Arsenal signing said he is looking forward to a new adventure with Arsenal.

Arsenal have signed Switzerland worldwide Stephan Lichtsteiner on a free transfer from Juventus.

Lichtsteiner will represent Switzerland at this summer's World Cup alongside his new Arsenal teammate Granit Xhaka, where he could win his 100th worldwide cap.

Arsenal's new signing, Stephan Lichtsteiner has revealed why he joined the Gunners.

The 34-year-old's vast experience may come in handy in the UEFA Europa League as Arsenal are likely to employ a second-string side in the continental competition.

Lichtsteiner, who captains Switzerland, will become manager Unai Emery's first signing since succeeding Arsene Wenger.

The Switzerland global ended his time with Juventus having secured a seventh Serie A title in 2017-18, with Massimiliano Allegri's squad pipping Napoli to the Scudetto in the closing weeks.

"A story full of unforgettable moments that I will keep in my heart forever".

According to the same report, Arsenal will hold talks with Fellaini's representatives this week as they consider a swoop to bring him to The Emirates in what would be one of Unai Emery's first summer signings.

"I think it's hard to see a club like Arsenal not playing in the CL if you see the players, club and stadium. Stephan will improve us on and off the pitch", Emery said of the move. "I'm really positive we will do great things".

The Swiss star, 34, started his senior career in 2001 with Swiss club Grasshopper Zurich, where he won the league title in 2003.
