Ontario tech companies: CCI releases Ontario election primer

As party leader and subsequently Premier, Wynne quickly set about shifting Liberal policies and ideology firmly to the left.

Ford, meantime, refused to be pinned down on whether he would attend Toronto's annual Pride parade if he's elected premier on June 7.

"I knew there was a chance that I would end up in the opposition because, after 15 years, it's normal that there'd be a changing of the guard and I was prepared for that", she said.

"Should I be given the opportunity to serve as premier I will be one of the biggest champions the steel industry has ever seen", Horwath said.

Speaking at a campaign stop in Toronto, Horwath said she expected a close election on Thursday.

Kathleen Wynne has publicly conceded she won't be premier after Ontario residents go to the polls this Thursday.

"There needs to be someone there to watch out that the things that we've put in place aren't being cut", says Hoggarth, who reiterates that a vote for her rival NDP candidate is ultimately a vote for the Tories.

An NDP government in Ontario would introduce a series of new accountability measures surrounding party nominations and government procurement, Leader Andrea Horwath announced Friday.

By voting Liberal you can keep the next government, Conservative or NDP, from acting too extreme - one way or the other. "Andrea is the kind of leader we need and the NDP's plan will make Ontario a stronger province", said Warren.

Wynne said this is to ensure neither the PC nor the NDP receives a majority. Her faith in the Liberals was shaken and her vote will go to the NDP, she said.

Should the New Democrats win office after the June 7 election, Ms. Horwath said she would call for an all-party committee to look into the situation.

The move could nonetheless backfire and endanger the very seats Wynne is trying to protect by suggesting that a vote for the Liberals is a wasted vote, said David Coletto, CEO of the polling firm Abacus Data.

The Liberal Party has been trailing a distant third in recent polls, and Wynne's popularity has been low.

"They're going to be choosing a person to lead them who will be in some very tricky, very delicate negotiations with US officials", Wynne said. People worry about what will happen to our economy if the NDP take power and form a majority government with nothing to hold them back.

"What's really remarkable this time is that within about two days of this campaign starting, that decision had more or less been made - that it was quite clear that it was going to be the NDP against the Conservatives".
