MTV Halts 'Catfish' Production Amid Sexual Misconduct Allegations Against Host Nev Schulman

MTV suspended its show "Catfish" after the host, Nev Schulman, was accused of sexual harassment.

"We take these allegations very seriously", an MTV rep says in a statement obtained by the Daily Beast.

The investigation comes days after a former guest on the reality show posted videos on YouTube, alleging she was the recipient of sexually charged language and that she was repeatedly asked about her sexual orientation. She prefaces the video by saying she isn't looking for money or attention she just wants to make sure this doesn't happen to anyone else that goes on the show.

After the allegations surfaced online, Nev Schulman released a statement to the outlet calling the claims "false", and denying that Morgan's story was accurate. He then said he had a big penis and would "tear your ass up" to Morgan.

A crew member from the show tells Page Six that he questions her allegations due to the filming schedule of the show. Morgan said she woke up after passing out and the production assistant was on top of her, but did not go into further detail "out of respect for myself, and other reasons I can not explain". Morgan also said he made advances, such as asking her to "cuddle", while they were hanging out in her hotel room.

Reportedly, the series is being postponed while MTV conducts an internal investigation into the claims.

In 2014, Schulman admitted to punching a woman while he was attending Sarah Lawrence College.

After shooting again that day, they returned to the hotel but she was locked out of her room because her producer had her key.

In 2016, Schulman and Perlongo even took to social media to share this video of their views on the importance of paternity leave.

A representative for Nev Schulman didn't immediately respond to INSIDER's request for comment.
