Ariana Grande uses Nintendo Labo to recreate her new single

With the dinky-synth beatscapes conjured by those Nintendo instruments and Fallon and the Roots' backing vocals, this version of "No Tears Left To Cry" came out sounding more like Devo than anyone could've anticipated.

It isn't the first time Jimmy Fallon has been a champion for the Nintendo Switch, having previously had Nintendo Of America President Reggie Fils-Aime on the show for a demonstration.

Jimmy Fallon himself was involved in the action with his own guitar play fitting in seamlessly with the rest of the band.

Fallon's show is famous for its creative musical numbers, so it's no surprise to see the production embrace the full potential of the Labo instruments.

We met with Nintendo and they showed us a bunch of cool cardboard things that you can make. On Monday night (May 14) his worlds collided when he and The Roots strapped on their cardboard Nintendo Labo instruments and jammed with Ariana Grande on a space age version of her hit single "No Tears Left to Cry" in the latest edition of "Classroom Instruments".

From fishing rods to motorcycles, you can experience games made for the platform in new and interesting ways. It's usually both cute and fun, which is something that Fallon's Tonight Show so often goes for and so rarely achieves. It's one reason you always want to tune in because you don't know what the funnyman will have in store for us.
