Clayne Crawford Wishes 'Lethal Weapon' Well After Renewal

According to a press release from Fox, the network's TV reboot of the Mel Gibson-Danny Glover buddy-cop film franchise has been renewed for a third season, with the "American Pie" alum added to the cast to replace Clayne Crawford, who was sacked from the show over unspecified abusive behaviour on the set.

Though details are still being worked out, Scott has been confirmed to be playing a new character ends up partnering with Murtaugh (Damon Wayans).

"Seann is a fantastic addition to this already unbelievable cast", said Thorn.

For the past few weeks, the rumors around FOX where that the network would either cancel the hit series "Lethal Weapon", or replace the lead-actor Clayne Crawford.

For his part, Crawford says he's grateful to have played the "dream role" of Riggs and wishes the continuing cast and crew the best of luck on the third season.

After being reprimanded following two incidents earlier this year, Crawford is rumoured to have been sacked from the show - although he claims he hasn't been told by his bosses.

"While Fox ordered a third season of the action drama, series star Damon Wayans will be joined by Scott (the American Pie franchise"), who will play a new character who folds into a partnership with Murtaugh (Wayans). The role will be his first TV series regular roles after the American Pie franchise and numerous other features. Warner Bros. alerted Fox to the issue and told the network they coudn't keep the actor on if the show if renewed - even just from a financial standpoint it would put a studio at risk.

Wayans, Keesha Sharp, Kevin Rahm, Jordana Brewster, Johnathan Fernandez, Dante Brown, Chandler Kinney and Michelle Mitchenor star in "Lethal Weapon", which comes from Warner Bros. TV.

Stifler's about to get a "Lethal Weapon".
