BioWare Promises Anthem Will Cater to All Types of Players

During the recent EA financial call covering last quarter, EA talked about the future, including that the Anthem release date will be placed in March 2019.

In his latest blog post he goes into BioWare's history and mission statement, which unsurprisingly is focused on creating rich stories for players to feel like they're the hero of.

"In the year ahead, we will expand the world of play with awesome new experiences and (intellectual property), more competition and industry-leading subscription programs", Wilson said in a release.

From the sound of things, Anthem is a game that will probably have a lot of long-term appeal (like Destiny) and will likely be supported by new content drops over time (again, like Destiny).

Furthermore, the game is also expected to be featured at next month's EA Play event, so fans can tune in to that. The game EA shows off next month at EA Play may not exhibit the same hints and microtransaction clues shown previous year.

As Gamespot noted, the way Wilson put it seems to suggest that he is not just referring to the early play access that is granted to EA/Origin Access subscribers, especially since that means that players would only be able to provide feedback from five days' worth of checking out the game.

For Fiscal Year 2019, ending March 31, 2019, the publisher expects net revenue of approximately $5.600 billion. There should also be multiple beta tests before the game launches in EA's upcoming Q4 period.

During the investor call, EA said that they were very excited about releasing a new IP.

"Looking forward, we will continue our aggressive pace of innovation through experiences that capitalize on our technology, network and creativity". Due to Anthem being a new IP, EA is remaining very reserved in its expectations and outlook for the game.

"This game is built around a live service, and through our creative process we have chose to add more to the disruptive new social designs for our players".
