Heat's Wade not ready to decide National Basketball Association future

Miami Heat center Hassan Whiteside has been the topic of numerous trade rumors following the team's first-round exit in the 2018 NBA Playoffs against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Wade also indicated that he had no interest in discussing his future after his team was eliminated.

Asked about his future postgame, Wade said, "One thing I ain't anxious about right now is that". Wade, 36, is reportedly contemplating retirement in the wake of the playoff loss, though has declined to make a firm decision one way or another until later on in the off-season. Wade says he isn't ready to talk about that right now.

While I'd be shocked if he wasn't shopped this summer, there's also a very good chance that the Miami Heat might be stuck with him for the next two seasons.

Philadelphia ended the season on a 16-game win streak to get to the No. 3 seed and made quick work of the Heat in Round 1. Wade has now completed his 15th season in the National Basketball Association, and he'll be turning 37 years old this year. Actress Gabrielle Union tweeted, "I hope this isnt the end, but my God..."

After dealing for Larry Nance Jr., Jordan Clarkson, Rodney Hood and George Hill in just over 90 minutes before the NBA Trade Deadline, the Cavaliers sent Wade to the Heat for a heavily-protected second-round pick in the NBA Draft. Wade admitted that he has thought about retiring, but said that he won't make an official decision until during the summer. The question everyone is mulling is, "Is #Dwayne Wade going to decide to retire [VIDEO]?"

If this is it, Wade is a lock-Hall of Famer with three championships (2006, 2012-13), one NBA Finals MVP (2006) and 12 All-Star Game selections (2005-2016) to his name.

"It meant a lot". In the playoffs, however, he played only 15.4 per game. "I was very thankful to the guys here that accepted me with open arms the way that they did", Wade told Reed after Game 5. I feel like I know those guys and it's like family.

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.

"Obviously, when you're brothers, you're around him every day, and then, he has to go back".
