Survey says Utah drivers are the 15th 'most aggressive' in the nation

- It may come as no surprise to some that Georgia is one of the states with the most aggressive drivers.

The GasBuddy study has the The Tar Heel State coming in at No. 5.

According to a study recent from GasBuddy.com, a real-time fuel and traffic app, Florida is on the short list of states with the most aggressive drivers, ranking 8 out of 50 states. GasBuddy also says these habits can cost drivers up to $477 more per year.

California ranked number one for most aggressive drivers followed by CT and Georgia.

The most relaxed drivers hail from Alaska, with an aggressive driving event occurring every 29.6 minutes, the study found. Alaska was followed by Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming.

As of Tuesday, the average for a gallon of regular gas in California is $3.58, according to Triple A. The national average is $2.76.

GasBuddy said the average number of minutes between "aggressive driving events" in California was 6.6 minutes.

GasBuddy said it examined "tens of millions" of trips in all 50 states since December 12, 2017, noting the frequency of an aggressive event - defined as speeding, hard braking or aggressive accelerating.
