Lenovo S5 Launch Expected on March 20

Lenovo's VP Chang Cheng has shared a teaser on China's social media platform Weibo, where the company announced that it is hosting an event on March 20. Lenovo stopped making flagship smartphones after 2018 and concentrated on budget smartphones. The teaser shows that the alleged Lenovo S5 smartphone might be unveiled on March 20 but the name remains unconfirmed for now. At least that's the case from Chang Cheng, the Vice President of Lenovo Group, who posted a teaser image of the launch on his Weibo account.

Lenovo is reportedly planning to launch a new smartphone which is dubbed as Lenovo S5.

Cheng hinted that the device might come with ZUK's ZUI Android skin. As seen by his posts, Cheng has been using this smartphone for his Weibo profile since February end. The post has been done using the Lenovo S5 smartphone only. There are now no pricing or availability details around the phone though we can expect to get clarity in the days following up to the launch.

Recently, Lenovo K520 was spotted on Chinese certification authority, TENAA. It is speculated that that could be the Lenovo S5. As per the listing, Lenovo K520 features a 5.65-inch display that has full HD+ display with 2160 x 1080 pixel resolution. The front will also apparently house an 8-megapixel camera. The phone is backed by a 3000mAh battery and runs on Android 8.0 Oreo. The Lenovo K520 has dual cameras on the back, while an 8MP front-facing snapper on the front.
