San Antonio, Austin ranked among best airports in North America

It is now the seventh busiest airport in Asia and is also one of the 20 busiest airports across the world.

Airports Council International (ACI) has named the winners of the 2017 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards, with Mumbai and Delhi jointly capturing the top prize in the largest category, for airports handling over 40 million passengers a year.

The DIAL stated, "With 63.5 million passengers flying through the airport, it has surpassed Changi, Incheon and Bangkok airports in terms of passenger growth".

The ASQ network delivers 600,000 individual surveys each year in 84 countries and 42 languages. "I would like to thank the MIA team and our stakeholders for overcoming these challenges through teamwork and a lot of dedication", said Malta International Airport CEO Alan Borg. Implemented at over airports worldwide, the ASQ programme delivers an in-depth assessment of the quality of the customer service experience, including elements such as check-in; security; way finding; food & beverage; and more. The increase in traffic through Delhi's airport over the past years has been considerable. The ASQ Programme also facilitates the sharing of best practice among airport companies. We are set to undertake the expansion works at Delhi Airport in line with IGIA Master Plan-2016. "In 2007, when we had taken over the complete operations of the airport, the ASQ score was 3.53 and in a decade we have got it to hover around 4.99 out of a maximum 5", said G.V.K. Reddy, founder-chairman of GVK Group which manages the airport. Bengaluru airport was rated in the first place in the 15 to 25 million passengers category, while Chennai airport bagged a joint third place with Indonesia's Surabaya Airport. Paul International Airport has been ranked the best airport in North America in its size category. "Our sovereign agencies CISF, Immigrations, Customs, Delhi Police and Delhi Traffic Police contribute greatly by safeguarding the law of land while exhibiting service centric behaviour", Rao said.
