Grande was meant to be performing during the ceremony to remember the victims of the attack that took place at her concert in May a year ago but was instructed by her doctor not to travel due to illness.

Reportedly, The star was set to perform an emotional tribute here at the O2 Arena on Wednesday night, for the victims of the Manchester terror attack which disrupted her concert in May previous year.

The former Oasis man was drafted in at the last minute after Ariana herself was forced to cancel at short notice.

A source tells us that Ariana fell ill, and despite this, was still going to go and perform. Her doctor told her that she couldn't perform, there was no question.

It remains to be seen who will now fill her spot, but rest assured it'll be a big name to take over from what was was due to be the highlight of the entire show. Ariana has yet to comment on her absence on her social media pages.

Liam will no doubt be welcomed as a replacement however, as the Manchester native was also among the stars who performed at Ariana's One Love concert last June, in aid of the victims who lost their lives at her concert in the city just a month prior.

Unfortunately, Grande was unable to travel due to falling ill and was unable to perform at the awards ceremony, leaving Gallagher to step in at the last moment to remember those lost. However, she hasn't actually posted on her Twitter or Instagram pages since December. After the tragedy, Ariana organized the star-studded One Love Manchester concert, which raised money for the victims. The musical event at the Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground featured performances from acts including Liam, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Chris Martin and Miley Cyrus.
